Viridian® Invites Law Enforcement Personnel to Test Gun Cameras in Las Vegas

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – January 14, 2020 – Viridian Weapon Technologies will be exhibiting the FACT Duty™ Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC™) at the 2020 Las Vegas Metro Police Department Range Day held on Monday, January 20 in Las Vegas. In 2019, over 800 police and military attended the event to learn about the latest gun accessories for law enforcement and shoot firearms from leading manufacturers. Attendees this year are invited to stop by to speak with Viridian representatives about the recording device that continues to gain major media attention and make a significant impact in departments nationwide.

“This is our second year exhibiting at the Las Vegas Metro demo day, and we’re eager to demonstrate the importance of Viridian gun cameras in modern policing,” said Viridian President Brian Hedeen. “More than 500 agencies are in the process of testing or deploying the WMC—including the Nye County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada—and we look forward to talking to attendees this year about the WMC’s unique benefits.”

Admission to the event is free for all active and retired fire department, EMS, military and law enforcement personnel. Credentials are required for entry, and one guest (at least 18 years old) will be permitted. The range event is located at LVMPD Range at 7600 E. Carey Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89156. FACT Duty WMC

The highly advanced FACT Duty WMC employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. This distinctive weapon-mounted camera provides a clear view of critical use-of-force events from the end of the firearm, addressing limitations officers can face with body cameras. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster. Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment. Body and dash cameras were not designed to capture officer-involved shootings. However, Viridian WMCs were designed specifically for use-of-force incidents when the officer’s gun is drawn.
