INMAN, S.C. – July 9, 2020 – The Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour is finishing out the 2020 season with Stage Fivethis weekend in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This event marks the end of the regular season following a restructuring of the schedule due to COVID-19. TrueTimber anglers Edwin Evers and David Dudley will be in the pack looking for big fish and points in order to qualify for the REDCREST Championship to be held in February of 2021. Stage Five begins July 10 and will conclude July 15 with full event coverage at MajorLeagueFishing.com.
Evers currently sits 32nd in overall standings with 169 points just behind Dudley who currently sits 26th with 196 points going into Stage Five. The top 40 anglers will qualify for the REDCREST Championship in 2021. Evers is looking to defend his REDCREST title from 2019.
“We are thrilled to see all of the anglers getting the opportunity to get back out on the water and into competition,” said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars. “It’s unfortunate the season was cut short, but we are excited to see both Edwin and David competing again. MLF did a great job of working with the restrictions and getting things back on track both safely and quickly.”
The traditionally eight stage MLF Bass Pro Tour was reduced to five stages due to COVID-19 restrictions. The series was able to complete three stages earlier in the year before events were forced to be postponed. For the safety of all involved, fan events and gatherings have been cancelled for the remainder of the season. Fans will have the opportunity to get full event coverage live at MajorLeagueFishing.com. Standings in the abbreviated five-stage tour will count towards the 2021 REDCREST Championship qualification.
