WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – May 16, 2024 – Team Savage, the shooting representative of renowned firearms manufacturer Savage Arms, proudly announces another impressive performance by Matt Alwine in the 2024 NRL High Desert Hunter presented by Pure Precision. Alwine clinched the top spot in both the Factory Division and Overall categories, demonstrating outstanding prowess and precision in competitive shooting.
“Matt Alwine’s start to the 2024 NRL season has been especially impressive,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “This event is notable for its particularly daunting terrain, and Matt seems to only improve in the face of a challenge. Savage Arms is proud of Matt’s performance throughout the 2024 season, and we look forward to watching him continue to build on these victories.”
The 2024 NRL High Desert Hunter occurred at the Buckskin Hills Shooting Complex in Vernal, Utah on May 3-5, 2024. Competitors faced off against each other to hunt targets in a desert environment and enjoy the sights of the surrounding mountains. The competition consisted of 20 stages over a three-quarter mile stretch, with only three stages completely visible from the shooter staging area.
Alwine secured his victories using the Savage Carbon Tactical chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, the same rifle used in his previous victory at the Manners Elite Hunter in April.
