Savage Arms® Announces New Savage Journeys Episode: Hunting the Rugged Wild

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – August 8, 2024 – Savage Arms® is proud to have the latest Savage Journeys episode featured on multiple platforms. “Hunting the Rugged Wild” debuted on Carbon TV, premiers on YouTube tonight at 7PM ET and hits the Savage Blog tomorrow. Season 3, Episode 17 features Savage Marketing Director Beth Shimanski’s exceptionally long path and dedicated preparation plan to hunting success and personal growth in New Zealand.

Shimanski has been lucky enough to hunt some wild places all over the globe. For someone who has been hunting for less than 10 years, her list of adventures is long. All hunts and journeys present their own challenges, and Shimanski approaches them all on a case-by-case basis. From booking the trip to boots on the ground in New Zealand was about as unique and drawn out process as any hunt can be—and when she arrived and started the hunt, that path remained windy and full of unknowns, perseverance and ultimately, success.

Shimanski and friends from the industry originally planned to hunt the famed New Zealand landscape with the well-known and respected outfitter Glen Dene Hunting in 2020. However world events meant the once-in-a-lifetime hunt would have to be postponed. Then, New Zealand regulations and other scheduling conflicts pushed the hunt all the way to 2023. The challenge of just getting there was hard enough—but preparing and staying ready meant years of commitment from Shimanski and her hunting companions.

“This hunt was literally years in the making, but I wouldn’t change a thing,” said Shimanski. “My hunting partners, Glen Dene and the true beauty, challenges and mystique of New Zealand made this hunt one to remember forever. I was proud of my ability to stay physically ready and navigate the trip getting pushed back multiple years.

“The hunt itself was every bit as challenging physically, but even more so mentally. It had a little bit of everything: weather challenges, wary game, close calls and ultimately hard-earned success. My stag is a personal trophy and physical reminder of the adventure.  However, as all hunters know, it’s also the people you hunt with, the beauty of the terrain and the personal and physical accomplishments that make each hunt memorable and one-of-a-kind.”

Shimanski’s hunt, the preparation, planning and how it all unfolded, can be watched, read and experienced on Carbon TV, Savage YouTube and on the Savage website

Savage Announces New Episode of Savage Journeys: Making It Rain Outdoors

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – June 28, 2024 – Savage Arms® announces the release of its newest Savage Journeys episode: Making it Rain Outdoors. This story follows Savage Arms ambassadors Rain and Jason Williams and the generational tradition of hunting and fishing that Rain Williams was born into and is sharing with her family. The Williams hope to instill in their children the same passion for the outdoors and inspire other families to connect with nature to ensure the legacy continues for future generations.

Viewers can watch as Rain tells the story of her father and grandfather instilling a love for the outdoors in her from a young age, and how she came to introduce her husband Jason to hunting and fishing when they began dating. Now parents of three, viewers witness them discuss combining parenthood with the outdoors and the balance that takes. The Williams also describe how their brand, Rain Outdoors, came to be and the mission of their platform.

“My husband was passionate about promoting where he was from in the city so he knew all about social media. He would take pictures of me outside hunting and fishing and the brand started building from there,” said Rain Williams. “For a long time, I knew that I wanted to get young people involved, especially young women. Hearing from parents who tell me that their daughters decided to start hunting or fishing because of me is what inspires me to keep making content and building Rain Outdoors.”

As important as creating and sharing content is to Rain and Jason, they stand firm in the idea that the most important job they can do in growing the outdoor community is to instill those values in their children. The Williams work hard to teach their sons that hunting and fishing is more for the harvest than anything else, showing them every step of the process from the catch or kill to a home-cooked meal.

“Rain’s story is important to tell because it highlights the power of family traditions and the vital role of teaching the next generation to cherish our outdoor heritage,” said Kristin Boeshart, Digital Marketing Manager at Savage Arms. “Rain and Jason share their joy for the outdoors and their family every day on their pages.”

The Williams continue to pursue their goals, with a bright vision for the future of Rain Outdoors. Having recently released her first children’s outdoor coloring and activity book, Rain Outdoors Into the Wild, Rain hopes to spark children around the country’s interest in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Rain and Jason’s adventures are documented on their Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.

“We’re trying to build an outdoors legacy that will last beyond our lives and this is just the beginning of that journey,” said Rain Williams.

The Green Way Outdoors Tours Savage Arms® Factory

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – June 21, 2024 – Savage Arms®, an iconic firearm manufacturer, hosted The Green Way Outdoors of the HISTORY® Channel for an exclusive tour of its historic firearms manufacturing facility. The Green Way Outdoors is a one-of-a-kind program reaching new audiences and introducing the hunting and shooting industry via the HISTORY® channel and a large digital presence.

“It was a pleasure having The Green Way Outdoors in our factory because they are so passionate about the outdoors and the education of the younger generation,” said Chris Bezzina, President and CEO of Savage Arms. “Kyle and Ryan had a very genuine curiosity about our process and what makes Savage Arms the standard for American firearms manufacturing, and we were more than happy to take them through our process step by step.”

Chris Bezzina and Wayne Kratochvil, Sr. Materials Supervisor, gave Green and Parks the opportunity to walk the factory floor and build their very own Savage 110 Ultralite Elite chambered in .308 Win, as well as a 110 KLYM in 300 Win Mag.

“It was such an interesting experience making my own gun and learning the process,” said Kyle Green, host and executive producer of The Green Way Outdoors. “What stood out to me the most was how every single step in the process double-checks the step prior. This is just one example of why the Savage quality is so incredible”

Bezzina and Kratochvil explained the idea behind the building of the 110 Ultralite platform, and what makes this rifle unique. The Savage 110 Ultralite first debuted in 2020, while its most recent iteration – the 110 Ultralite Elite – became available in early 2024.

“The Savage team made us feel right at home and I could tell they are proud of what they do,” said Ryan Parks, producer of the HISTORY® Channel program. “American manufacturing is not dead. I loved learning about the interesting history of Savage and its commitment to keeping jobs here.”
