Savage Arms® Now Shipping 400 Legend Options in Several Models

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – October 25, 2023 – Savage Arms is excited to announce that more than a dozen models are now available in 400 Legend. The new hard-hitting, yet mildly recoiling, caliber means new opportunities for big game hunters across the country.

"We’ve been looking forward to this addition to our lineup for a while," said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. "This caliber offers many ballistic advances and advantages that any deer hunter will appreciate. Savage has always been dedicated to chambering the best calibers for hunters and shooters, and the release of these models in 400 Legend affirms that. "

Straight walled cartridges have only grown in popularity since the introduction of the likes of fellow Winchester caliber 350 Legend. The growth of this caliber can be attributed to modern design benefits that lead to improved performance – and the 400 Legend is proving to be no different in this regard. This straight-walled cartridge offers 100% more energy than a 12 gauge slug with 55% less felt recoil. When compared to its rifle counterparts and predecessors, the 400 Legend brings the same amount of energy as the 450 Bushmaster, with a reduction in felt recoil of 20%. Finally—the 400 Legend offers 25% more energy than the 350 Legend for more penetration and improved terminal ballistics. Savage has responded to its performance-based value with the addition of these new 400 Legend models catered to deer hunters and big game hunters for the fall of 2023 and beyond.

Savage Announces New Single Shot Adapter for Axis and 110 Rifles

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – October 20, 2023 – Savage Arms releases a Single Shot Adapter for its most popular rifles in time for deer seasons across the country. This Savage accessory for Axis and 110 models converts rifles with a traditional detachable magazine into single shot rifles. This conversion enables hunters to use Savage centerfire rifles in states that allow straight-wall cartridges (or other calibers) in single shot configurations for deer hunting.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Single Shot Adapter into our lineup of accessories,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “We want to ensure that hunters get the most use out of their Savage firearms, and the Single Shot Adapter allows hunters to take advantage of today’s modern cartridges in historically restricted deer hunting seasons in several states.”

The Single Shot Adapters are available in four configurations - one for each configuration of rifle that Savage produces that use the Savage flush fit magazines. The Single Shot Adapter is not compatible with rifles that take ACIS magazines. With these adapters a hunter can use a Savage rifle chambered in popular options like 350 Legend, 400 Legend or 450 Bushmaster to hunt deer in states like Illinois. No modifications are needed to the rifle to use the Single Shot Adapter.
