LandTrust, the Recreation Access Network, Partners with the National Deer Association (NDA)

July 26, 2021 – The National Deer Association (NDA) is pleased to announce that LandTrust is committing to wild deer conservation by becoming a supporting partner of NDA. LandTrust will make a donation back to NDA for every deer hunt booked on their recreation access network that makes private-land hunting affordable and accessible.

“We are excited to be partnering with LandTrust, not only because of their support for our mission, but also because of their goal to help rural wildlife habitat remain rural and open to hunting,” said Nick Pinizzotto, President and CEO of NDA. “Connecting hunters with hunting land helps increase access while incentivizing private landowners to value hunting and encourage wildlife management.”

LandTrust connects landowners with outdoor enthusiasts seeking recreational land access in an easy to use online marketplace. The service is essentially “Airbnb” for hunting. Users can search 500,000 acres of land by state and by the type of hunting or fishing desired, then book their dream outdoor trip online. Whenever someone books a private land deer hunt on LandTrust, $10 goes back to NDA to help ensure the future of wild deer, wildlife habitat and hunting.

“At LandTrust, we believe the future of working lands is dependent on a portfolio of income from agricultural production, conservation and recreation opportunities,” said Nic De Castro, Founder and CEO of LandTrust. “Whether you are a landowner or an outdoor enthusiast, everyone benefits when rural and working land remains undeveloped. That is why we created LandTrust.”

National Deer Association (NDA) Appoints John Annoni and Natalie Krebs to Board of Directors

July 19, 2021 – The National Deer Association (NDA) is pleased to announce John Annoni and Natalie Krebs have been appointed to the NDA Board of Directors. Both new members bring a variety of skills and experience to the table and will play integral parts working with the Board to achieve NDA’s mission.

“When we merged two organizations and Boards to form the NDA, we all had a strong desire to strengthen our Board by seeking passionate hunters whose perspectives and insights might come from a different field of view than what we already possessed,” said NDA Board Chairman Rick Dahl. “I’m extremely humbled and excited that John and Natalie have accepted our invitation to join the Board, and I look forward to working with them as we take NDA to the next level.”

Annoni is a conservation advocate, author, outdoor mentor and three-plus-decade public school educator from Pennsylvania. He is known for founding the Camp Compass Academy, a nonprofit organization and educational system for developing youth through hunting and fishing. He is also the creator of the awareness campaigns Hunting Awareness and 2 Million Bullets. In 2008, he was nominated by Outdoor Life as one of the OL25 for “changing the face of hunting and fishing.”

“My journey in hunting and conservation has reached another pinnacle with this appointment,” said Annoni. “Being able to join with and support what is considered to be the most knowledgeable whitetail collaborative in the world is humbling and exciting. I’m looking forward to helping NDA chart a path for the future of both deer and those who appreciate them.”

Krebs is the senior deputy editor for Outdoor Life, where she has spent her career reporting on deer hunting, wildlife conservation, hunter recruitment and more. Last year she received the American Society of Magazine Editors NEXT Award for journalists under 30, and she joined the Arkansas chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers as a board member. She grew up in Missouri, earned her bachelor’s in journalism from Northwestern University, and now lives and hunts in northwest Arkansas.

“NDA has been a constant and invaluable resource to Outdoor Life, our readers, and to my reporting over the years, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Board to continue that partnership,” said Krebs. “Our goals are the same: to strengthen deer populations and deer hunting, to champion habitat conversation and research, and to welcome new hunters of all kinds to a tradition unlike any other.”
